Former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Delta State, Dr. Peter Mrakpor (SAN), yesterday called on Christians to register for their voter cards and vote for right leaders to change the nation’s fortunes.
Mrakpor made the call at Christian Community Platform during a gathering of Ethiope East people, tagged, “Ethiope East Praise Day.”
He spoke through Rev. Samson Bodjor at the Eku Baptist Mission School, Eku.
He said: “It is a sin if Christians do not register and vote in the right leaders.”
The former Delta State Attorney-General, who gave his message from Proverbs 29, verse 2, said: “If the righteous man is in authority, the people rejoice, while on the contrary, if a wicked man is in power, the people suffer.”
Mrakpor said people have fallen in love with wonders of God in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which, he said, was made possible because of selfless services, and efforts of quality leaders within the spate of 50 years.
“Those you give power and authority to rule over you should matter,” he said.
He debunked the notion that politics is dirty, saying: “It is the players that make it look dirty.”
It is good for children of God to be actively involved in politics so that we can enthrone good governance at all levels. If you leave politics because it is dirty, who will be there for you? People that are not good will take over the planning for your welfare and future.”
Olorogun Akpowowo, the convener of the prayer conference in Ethiope East, said: “It is mandatory for Christians to pray for good leadership in the country if we must move forward as a people.0 Comment(s)
